Traditional and Electrochemical Technologies for Separation of Cu, Pb, Zn, and Cd from Wastewater
Keywords:
copper, lead, zinc, cadmium, waste water, electrochemical methodsAbstract
The work is devoted to the issue of copper, lead, cadmium and zinc in industrial wastewaters, indicating their forms of occurrence and toxicological properties, as well as the permissible limits for the purposes of drinking water, irrigation water and fish farming. The article also contains an overview of the largest polluters of wastewater in the Czech Republic and compares the traditional technologies of removal of ions of Cu, Pb, Zn, and Cd from the wastewater, such as chemical coagulation, flotation, ion exchange, adsorption, membrane filtration or photocatalysis, to those using electrochemical processes.
